First UMC’s Sunday School Program is for children 2 years old through the 5th grade
9:40 a.m. - 10:40 a.m.
Classes are grouped by age as of September 30, annually or by the grade the student is currently enrolled.
Children ages 2 through 5 years remain in one classroom for the Sunday School hour and learn of God's love through fun games, singing, and creative Bible teaching. Children will learn through hands-on Bible lessons.

Children in elementary grades 1st through 5th will find Bible stories come to life as they participate in Rotation Sunday School. This model concentrates on one major Biblical story every month through Art, Cooking, Games, Drama, Computer & Cinema in our newly remodeled workshop spaces. Rotation Sunday School incorporates various learning styles, increasing Bible literacy and life application. Rotation Sunday School builds creativity...and it's great fun! Meet in the Treehouse Room near the Bell Tower!
6th Graders and older students who desire to be Confirmed
** Confirmation refers to that event in which persons profess and confirm their faith in Jesus Christ within the worship setting. In the United Methodist Church, participants are instructed on the doctrines of the Christian church as well as the beliefs and practices of the United Methodist Church. Participants are also engaged in service projects. Confirmation classes will begin meeting in 2017, with the culminating event scheduled for May - "Confirmation Sunday". The Confirmation class is open to those in 6th grade and older. This Confirmation Class includes students with special needs, led by Amy Clausen. The Acolyte Program
Children 3rd grade through 5th grade are invited to participate and serve in worship by bringing in the Light of Christ. Contact Brandy Blackwell at email@example.com or through the church office at 643-6437 for more information or to join.
'Little Angels Choir' (Preschool & K) & Children's Choir (1-5 grade) meet during the Sunday School hour in their respective classrooms.
DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K)
DivorceCare for Kids is a divorce recovery support group to help your children, 5-12 years of age, heal from the pain of separation and divorce. Contact Heidi for registration information at 643-3454 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The next class is anticipated for January 2017 and will be held on Wednesday evenings. Registration will begin in Fall 2016.
Kids' Own Worship - Godly Play
Godly Play is a worship experience designed to invite children to consider the wonder of worship. Held during the school year, Godly Play is in the Treehouse Room at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays. Are you a story teller? Consider telling the greatest stories and share your faith! Ages preschool through elementary school.

There are many ways to give of your gifts: in the classroom, behind the scenes, singing songs! The most important qualifications are to have a heart that loves God and a desire to work with children. We will train and equip you with all of the resources and materials that you’ll need. Take a leap of faith now and join our amazing team. We are growing!
Safe Sanctuary Training
It's offered on a regular basis and is a requirement when working with youth and children at FUMC. Volunteers must be members of FUMC for at least 6 months, then contact Children's Ministry Director Heidi Weber for a volunteer application form.
