We know when you first walk in to a place that is unfamiliar it can be an uncomfortable experience. However, we believe when you visit First UMC, you get a sense of the welcoming spirit that is here. We are a diverse family of faith who wants you to know that you have a place here with us.  From “Greeting Our Neighbors” in worship to sharing a cup of coffee in our Gathering Place, we know you will experience hospitality with your every visit. We hope the following information will help you feel at home with us.

Parking: When you arrive, you will find ample parking on all sides of the campus as well as a church parking lot across 4th Street from the church campus.

Campus Map:  To help you find your way around, you may print out a map by clicking here:  campus map

Helpful Information:  You will find a Welcome Center in the Gathering Place located near the bell tower and prayer garden.  Brochures, newsletters and other information about First UMC and The United Methodist Church are available, as well as a "thank you gift" for being our guest.  Leslie Landeche, the Welcoming Ministries Director, and others are available there to answer any questions you may have or to show you around the church campus.

Childcare/Nursery: Children are welcome in worship, or you may bring them to the childcare/nursery area (room 502) in the Family Life Center.  Your little one will be signed in, and you will be offered a beeper in the event that you are needed during the worship service.  If you prefer to bring your child to worship and need a place to console him/her during the service, you will find a "Comfort Room" in the rear foyer of the sanctuary.  Rocking chairs, a changing table and a restroom are located there, and a large window and speakers will allow you to continue to follow the service.
